Water is one of the most abundant element in our planet; in fact, almost 75% of Earth consist of water. But do you know how useful is it to us? Not just to drink, cook or wash, it produces incessant energy to us - including electricity or fuel for machines to work.
As everyone knows, each water molecule consists of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom (H2o). We've even known a simple method to separate them - electrolysis. By simply using electricity, the hydrogen atom and oxygen atom can be divided, forming two different gases. So, what actually are the advantages that we get from this device?
Back then in University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC), I was inspired by my chemistry lecturer (Mr. Chiang) to dig up more information regarding water as car fuel. "Anyone who works in the fuel companies or has got anything to do with fuel, especially water in the future would definitely make BIG money," these were the words by him which still play in my mind.
However, it was not only the monetory concerns that seized my zeal into this issue. I actually do support inventions and innovations which are environmental friendly. Imagine the world nowadays with all automobiles running just on water? Definitely greenhouse effects and air pollutions would dwindle into a lower rate. It would be oxygen emitted from the exhaust instead of carbon dioxides! People nowdays are searching assiduously for more petroleum sites as this fossil fuel is depleting soon. We would be able to save millions and millions of dollars spent on sophisticated digging machines! We would not have to go through so much hassles digging kilometres underground or undersea just to appease people's needs for gasoline as car fuel. Not just big companies and governments of countries, even the local citizens could benefit mnuch from this. People can actually fill their car tank anywhere they want with lower cost! Nowadays, in Malaysia, cost of fuel per litre is abut RM1.80; but, how much does it cost for water per litre? Worse to worst if I get it from a vending machine by the streets is just 20 cents maybe? GOSH! A ratio of 9 : 1! However, just make sure a bottle of water is always at the back seat of your car in casae of emergencies. Haha. Moreover, water was also said to be 6 times more powerful than gasoline if used as car fuel. Just imagine... how much can water benefit us - as times passes, even more and more inventions would be designed by using water.
